  Mrs. Mary Shaffer, 96, of the Fountain community near Covington, died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 1979, at Covington Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for eight years.
  She was a life resident of Fountain County and a member of the Fountain Willing Workers.
  Born March 25, 1883, in Fountain County, she was a daughter of Elijah and Henrietta Brown Ennis. She married George Shaffer, who preceded her in death.

  She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alice Bush of Williamsport Route 3 and Mrs. Mattie Musgrave of Phoenix, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Lee of Catlin, Ill.; and a great grandson, James Lee of Catlin.

  A son, a daughter, four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

  Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Visitation was Monday at the funeral home.
